Don’s great-grandfather, George Maddox, was a tenant farmer in Somerset County on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The farm today is now the 1500-acre Irish Grove Bird Sanctuary owned by the Maryland Ornithological Society. “Posted - No Shooting” signs surround the woodlands and marsh property. The irony is that every sign on the property is riddled with bullet holes. The Posted Collection celebrates the life of these fearless hole–nesters—with a touch of humor! Each piece is handmade in Maryland, limited edition and certified by the artist.
